I am still alive…

August 17, 2009

Contrary to popular belief, I am not dead and have decided to resurrect my blog seeing how I’m now trying so hard to start my writing engine and failing miserably.

Anyway.

Lots have taken place since the end to the semester; Noel and I finally made it to Thailand by train; MJ died; my grandpa turned 90; my sister came back for a short spell; the great Yasmin Ahmad passed away (still quite sad about that); uni started again and my beloved childhood friend Malinder got married.

So where to start?

Quite frankly, I have no idea.

I think checking out photo albums will do the trick. So here it is:

Thailand

Malinder’s wedding

I promise to write. That is, after I actually successfully string a coherent academic sentence together and recover from the wonderful wedding!

Update…

April 3, 2009

No, I’m not dead. Yet. Haha.

Have been rather caught up with work, both uni and teaching. Plus, am also preparing for a big gamelan show in Singapore at the end of May (will keep you posted!).

Speaking of gamelan, the girls and I have a blog! We just birthed it so go read:

Come say hi!

So here I was at 2am trying to write. Of course I decided to procrastinate and viola! I found a new obssession (besides King Julien)!

Creature Comforts is a creation from Aardman and it’s a doco-style series that features all sorts of animals talking about an array of subjects. It’s British humour and I just LOVE it. It’s all this claymation stuff which really tickles my fancy. I’ve made a vow the DVD in good time!

I’m facing reality here. That’s a lot of work due in less than a month.

I’m brimming with intensity, I’m stressed, I’m shaken…

I’m guessing this is my “Welcome to academic life!” party.

I love it!

Now that I’m really, really busy, I’m finding great joy in embracing the non-nerdy, blissfully silly things.

My sacrifice goes in the volcano, then the friendly gods eat up my sacrifice, umm very nice, thank-you for the sacrifice, hey have another sacrifice, no I’ve had enough for the day, listen I’m going to be very unsettled unless you have another, I don’t want another sacrifice ok! Look at you, you look skinny!! No I think I’ve had a enough is that clear!!
