Losing it.

I think I have a problem.

Here I am supposed to be typing away at my paper due next week and I’m looking at bags.

And more bags.

Ye Gods, help me!

Unexpected gift…

A pleasant, wonderful surprise from Sarah, our Aussie visitor who was with us last month for the Semah Angin.

We had an animated conversation about the music of In the Mood for Love during our field trip to Kelantan. It was a great discussion but I quickly forgot about it upon return to KL as I was too bogged down by the office move and various distractions.

Her gift today completely made my day.

Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of the night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you thread on my dreams.

That’s us in our crowning glory. Left to right: Yours truly, Susan, Jill, Sharm.

We had to wait a while to be photograph (read: shameless photo hogs before us) but it was definitely a necessary thing to do.

Perhaps it would be too sentimental and sappy for me to write this but:

I wonder what I did to deserve all this.

Who would have thought, from a simple dream to make gamelan a part of my soul!
